Designing for the Distant Future
This summer I took a week long workshop at CIID (The Copenhagen Institute of Interaction Design). With designers from all over the world we delved into what the future of technology will look like in 10, 25, 50 years. It was a challenging mental exercise where we examined where some of the latest technology has gotten to where it is currently, and how some of the research we are currently doing will set the stage for the future. As a class we examined self driving cars, drones, home fabrication, wearables, and my group focused on the micro-personal robot.
